Facundo Pellistri to discuss his future at Manchester United this week
According to Noticias de Alava via Sport Witness (h/t The Daily Star), Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri is set to discuss his immediate future at the club ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 season.
The Uruguayan starlet joined the Red Devils on deadline day last summer. However, he failed to make his senior bow and was shipped out on loan to Deportivo Alaves.
Pellistri made 12 appearances for the La Liga side, helping them stave off relegation. His performances appear to have left an impression, with Alaves ready to take him on loan for next season.
While Alaves are keen on a reunion, United are yet to make up their mind. They will address the 19-year-old ace’s future in the coming days. As things stand, another spell out on loan looks likely.
Whether that move will be to Alaves remains to be seen. This is because the likes of Club Brugge and other British teams are also in the fray to land him. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a good opinion of the youngster and believes he has the right mentality and ability to succeed at the club.
The right move!
While it is possible that Pellistri may make his first-team bow if he stays on at United, it would be far fetched to assume he will be a regular. He will clearly get better opportunities elsewhere such as Alaves.
United are keen to bring in a right-winger this summer. Jadon Sancho is the favourite to fill the position and can be expected to be an automatic starter when available.

With the likes of Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and even Amad Diallo available, Pellistri would be hard-pressed for opportunities. Seeking regular game time elsewhere could aid his development better.
