Manchester United ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka made more starts than any other player in the top European leagues this season

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka made the most starts of any player in Europe’s top five leagues during the 2020/21 season.

The Englishman is an automatic choice in his position and amongst the first players on the teamsheet for United. It comes as no surprise that he has made 54 starts for the club this season.

An ever-present since joining the club in 2019, Wan-Bissaka has made the right-back spot his own at Old Trafford. One of the best tacklers in the league, he is nigh on undroppable.

The fact that the 23-year-olds started 54 of our 61 games this season is a remarkable feat of physical endurance. While it is unfortunate that he will not be travelling to the Euros, it does afford him the chance to rest and recuperate over the summer.

While the season ultimately ended in heartbreak, Wan-Bissaka had his moments to cherish. He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-1 mauling of Newcastle United and also grabbed another in the 9-0 demolition of Southampton.

Add to it his six assists and it is evident that he is slowly yet steadily adding more to his game at Old Trafford. He played the whole game against Villarreal and scored from the spot in the shootout.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is improving going forward

The Englishman has so far made 100 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring twice and making 10 assists. With his best years yet to come, United have a real player on their hands.

While it is good to see him play regularly, it also shows the lack of backup options we have behind him. It is something that the club is actively looking to rectify this summer.
