Manchester United ready to meet Kingsley Coman wage demands
According to Bild’s Christian Falk (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are ready to offer a lucrative new contract to Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman.
The Frenchman currently earns €12m-a-year at Bayern Munich before tax. He is keen to improve upon it and it would appear United could offer him just that.
This has however done little to fluster Bayern. The winger is contracted to the club until 2023 and the Germans are aware they have time on their hands to work out a deal.
With his injury problems now behind him, Coman is coming into his own as a dominant winger. He has made 39 appearances this season, scoring 7 goals and making 13 assists so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A big-game player, he scored the winner in last season’s Champions League final against former club Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old has been added to France’s Euro 2021 squad and could further enhance his reputation with a solid showing.
That will once again work in Bayern’s favour as they can demand a high price for Coman’s signature. While United may be willing to meet the player’s salary demands the transfer fee remains a formidable obstacle.
United have been keen on Coman for some time now. According to an earlier report, an offer of €15.6m per year was made for Coman last summer. But the Parisian decided to stay in the Bundesliga.
Signing Coman will strengthen our right-wing heading into next season. The position has needed reinforcing for some time now and it is essential we grab the opportunity if it presents itself.
