Manchester United Supporters Trust urges Joel Glazers to listen to protestors grievances

According to Manchester Evening News, the Manchester United Supporters Trust (M.U.S.T) has urged Joel Glazer to pay attention to the grievances aired by supporters.

United fans have upped the ante in recent weeks and have intensified their protests against the American owners of the club. It would appear that the Glazers’ decision to join the European Super League has seen them bite off more than what they can chew.

Not only did fans prevent the United squad from exiting the Lowry Hotel but they also invaded the Old Trafford pitch ahead of yesterday’s clash against Liverpool. The match was subsequently postponed.

“It laid bare the risks to supporters put in place by these owners.”

United fans are up in arms against the Glazers

Ian Stirling, vice-chair of MUST believes the show of strength shows the lack of faith prevalent among supporters regarding the Glazers’ ownership of the club.

“Fans need to be listened to, they need to feel as if they are part of the club.”

The Glazers have never been popular among the fanbase since taking over in 2005. 16 years later, little appears to have gone in their favour. Their commitment to the ESL, if anything, laid those feelings bare.

“This has been 16 years in the making, there’s been an uneasy truce with the Glazers, all that trust disappeared with one statement on the European Super League.”

Glazers have never been particularly liked at Old Trafford.

Cannot ignore anymore!

M.U.S.T has urged the Glazers to listen to the fans. As one of the key stakeholders in the organization, long have their voice gone unheard.

“For far too long we’ve felt excluded, like a value put on us instead of our support being valued.”

Former United skippers Roy Keane and Gary Neville also came out in support of the fans’ protest. They believe the airing of grievances was something that was coming.
