Manchester United legend Roy Keane blasts the Glazers for Old Trafford unrest
According to Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United legend, Roy Keane believes the Glazers have only themselves to blame for the protests happening against them.
Thousands of protesters assembled outside Old Trafford, with a number of them even making their way to the pitch. It eventually led to the match against Liverpool being postponed following concerns regarding player and staff safety.
Keane believes fans have had enough. He went on to add that United’s participation in the now-defunct European Super League was the last straw.
“Enough is enough for these United fans now.”
Keane believes the protest was largely peaceful. Although some flares were lobbed at the Sky Sports box, he laughed it off by joking that it was aimed towards Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
“It’s got to a tipping point now for Man United fans. It was peaceful, I think they threw one or two bottles and a couple of flares – I think that was towards Jamie, to be fair, but I think they’ve had enough.”
The United legend believes anger against the Americans has been brewing for some time now. It would appear the fans have had enough and there is now no going back.
“We’ve seen over the past few weeks with the frustration at the Super League, not being able to support the club over the last year, enough is enough now and the United fans obviously want the Glazers out.”
More support!
Keane’s sentiments are shared by both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. Both Premier League legends agree that the fans did nothing wrong and have thrown their weight behind the protests.
If anything, the one man in the studio who appeared to be against what took place is Graeme Souness. It makes us think that maybe the flares were aimed at him rather than Carragher.
