Manchester United fans react as ESPN cut short John Champions in the midst of an anti-Glazer commentary
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are miffed that ESPN chose to cut short John Champion in the midst of his anti-Glazer commentary.
The 55-year-old English broadcaster who still commentates for ITV at major tournaments was in conversation with former USA international Taylor Twellman on ESPN when he was cut off by the network whilst speaking out against the Glazers.
Champion was talking about the lack of favour the Glazers curried among fans, not to mention the financial burden they had put on the club before being cut off.
“They bought the club by loading debt onto it. They don’t show any signs of care for it.”
ESPN have since suggested that the switch of the broadcast was down to technical difficulties. Perhaps it is the case as the American sports network released the full video later on.
Whether it was on purpose or not, one cannot fault the poor timing of the incident. Given what happened at Old Trafford yesterday, United fans’ anger at ESPN is understandable.
We take a look at how some fans reacted to the news on Twitter.

ESPN is knowing to have an agenda against United. They don’t feel bad and they don’t care. Worst football pundits on earth and that includes talksport

It is possible to hate Man U as a team, but also to empathize with the fans who feel the ownership sucks, AND to be disgusted by the silencing of a contrary opinion.
