Manchester United to focus on a forward after Eric Bailly extension
According to The Telegraph, Manchester United are set to prioritise the signing of a forward now that they have secured the contract extension of Eric Bailly.
For a long time now, Manchester United are said to have been intent on securing the signing of a new central defender in the summer. And, it largely made sense given Bailly’s fitness issues as well as his contract situation.
However, one of those matters has been taken care of now, as the club was able to agree a new contract with the Ivory Coast international. Indeed, Bailly signed a brand new deal, committing his future at the club till the summer of 2024.
With that out of the way, Manchester United are now set to turn their focus towards signing a new attacker, as concerns remain over the future of Edinson Cavani, whose contract is running out at the end of the season. (h/t The Telegraph)
Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund remains a top target for Manchester United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having worked with the striker back during his days at Molde. However, his services are in demand among a host of clubs. (h/t The Telegraph)
Apart from Haaland, the Red Devils continue to maintain an interest in his Borussia Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho. Jack Grealish is another long-term target that Manchester United could look at.

Bailly’s extension means we have enough cover at centre-back and while another new defender would be a good signing, the club can now turn their focus towards and invest heavily in a new forward, which is very much necessary.
