Transfer News: Pau Torres keeps door open for Manchester United move
According to transfer news from Mirror, Pau Torres has kept the door open for Manchester United to sign him. The Villarreal defender spoke about how he talks to his teammates such as Raul Albiol, Paco Alcacer and Alberto Moreno about playing for big clubs.
The 24-year-old has emerged as one of the transfer targets for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Over the last few months, several centre-backs such as Raphael Varane and Jules Kounde have emerged on Manchester United’s radar.
The general feeling is that the club are looking at a long-term partner for Harry Maguire. The fact that Torres is left-footed also appeals to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is keen on someone like that so that Maguire can be played on the right.
Pau Torres admitted that he often talks to his teammates who have played at big clubs. He consults the likes of Raul Albiol, who has played for Real Madrid, Paco Alcacer who has played for Barcelona, and Alberto Moreno, who played for Liverpool.
”Players who have gone through important clubs, when they talk about an experience they have had, I like to listen to them, both Paco Alcácer and Raúl Albiol or Alberto Moreno. They tell you things that you have not yet experienced and that you think you would like to experience.”
Despite those comments, Torres is focused on finishing the season well at Villarreal. They are in the semi-finals of the Europa League and could face Manchester United in the final if both sides win their ties.

There is clearly a need for another new centre-back to partner Maguire, with Lindelof underwhelming and Eric Bailly being injury prone. Pau Torres could represent a significant and useful bit of investment for us in that regard.
