Dimitar Berbatov admits Harry Kane could leave Tottenham for Manchester United like him
According to Daily Mail, Dimitar Berbatov feels that Harry Kane could follow in his footsteps to leave Tottenham and join Manchester United. The former Spurs and United striker urged that Kane’s ambitions to win trophies could result in an exit from Spurs, much like he did back in 2008.
The Tottenham Hotspur ace is one of the best strikers in world football and could be on the market this summer. Despite his individual brilliance, Spurs have failed to land a single trophy during his time there.
Soon to be 28, Kane is in the prime of his career and would be a ready-made asset who can improve any team. With him failing to commit his future to the North Londoners, it promises to be an interesting summer.
It is no secret that United are in need of a prolific scorer. Anthony Martial has massively underperformed while Edinson Cavani may be on his way out.
Even if the Uruguayan does end up staying, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with a new striker to shore up his attack. In Kane, he will be getting just that.
The former Premier League striker feels that he knows the position Kane is in right now. He opined that unless Tottenham can win that Carabao Cup and then follow it up with more trophies, they will have a huge problem in keeping Kane.
‘For me, personally, I think, “Harry Kane, what a great player, best striker in the world, what did he win in his career? Zero”. That would be a shame if it doesn’t change and that’s why I hope if Spurs win that trophy it’s going to be a major step towards winning stuff, but it’s not easy.
That’s why I took that decision and, probably, we will see it happen again soon because Harry Kane is in my position now where I was before.’

It would really be a fantastic proposition for United if Kane followed in the footsteps of Berbatov and joined us from Tottenham. However, prising away a star player from a rival is easier said than done.
Kane could cost a gargantuan amount but given that he has openly expressed his desire to leave and win trophies, things could just work in United and Solskjaer’s favour.
