Transfer News: Manchester United to offer Donny van de Beek to reduce Erling Haaland fee

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United are willing to offer Donny van de Beek to lower the fee for Erling Haaland. The Red Devils could look to sweeten the deal for Borussia Dortmund by offering one of their newest assets.

The 20-year-old is one of the most in-demand players in world football at the moment. With a number of top teams in the fray to secure his signature, Borussia Dortmund are looking to strike gold this summer.

Valued at a mammoth £156m, Haaland could be one of the most expensive transfers in this climate.

With that kind of money hard to throw these days, Manchester United will possibly look for a player plus cash deal.

Due to that, they will look to offer new recruit Van de Beek to Dortmund. The German side are said to be admirers of the player and with him struggling to settle in, United could put the pieces together.

Van de Beek was expected to be a smart coup for United but due to no fault of his, he has struggled to get game time. In the limited chances he has received, he has shown the occasional bit of skill which is understandable given how less he has played.

Erling Haaland is a prime target for United regardless of Edinson Cavani’s future. However, interest in the player is steep, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Man City are all after the coveted Norwegian and want to strike a deal next season.

Nonetheless, using Van de Beek and Dortmund’s interest in the player, Manchester United can entice the German club into selling Haaland at a reduced fee.

This deal will still be relatively difficult to pull off given so many factors at stake but it is no doubt going to be interesting to see where Haaland ends up.
