Manchester United fans react as Mason Greenwood stars in 2-1 win over Burnley
Manchester United star Mason Greenwood was the star of the night as the Red Devils defeated a determined Burnley side 3-1 to keep their title hopes alive.
The win takes us to within eight points of Manchester City with six games to go. With Kevin De Bruyne out injured for the Citizens, anything might be possible.
The hero on the evening was Mason Greenwood who scored our first two goals of the game. The youngster has now found the back of the net four times in the last three games and is finding form at the right time.
Greenwood’s first came early in the second half following an excellent move down the left flank. Marcus Rashford’s pullback was amplified by a Bruno Fernandes dummy that saw Greenwood sweep in for the opener.
Although James Tarkowski equalized for the Clarets, United poured ahead and got their just rewards. Greenwood restored United’s lead in the 84th minute following a big deflection off of Charlie Taylor.
He almost got himself an assist soon after but Scott McTominay’s strike was well saved by Bailey Peacock-Farrell. United were, however, not to be denied and substitute Donny van de Beek squared up Edinson Cavani for a simple tap-in.
United fans were understandably ecstatic at full time. We take a look at how some of them reacted below.
