Manchester United to hold talks about Edinson Cavani over his future
According to news from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have scheduled talks about Edinson Cavani over his future. The club want to extend his stay given the form he is in and Cavani will also talk to his family and agent.
This comes amidst reports of Cavani wanting to join Boca Juniors in South America at the end of this season. The 34-year-old joined United just last summer, coming in on a free transfer from PSG.
Since then, he has played a vital role this season. His most recent contribution came in a stunning display against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday and followed it up with another goal against Granada.
This was the former Napoli hitman’s 9th goal this season for United. And Solskjaer revealed after the game that Cavani is at crossroads regarding his future, with a decision yet to come.
But the Norwegian boss says that he understands why Cavani is thinking of reuniting with his family in South America. Cavani’s contract contains a 12-month extension clause that would see him stay at United for another year.
His recent exploits in front of goal have given Manchester United cause to think about extending his stay for at least another season. They are scheduled to hold a meeting regarding the same.

Cavani is undoubtedly a brilliant option to have up front and his goal-scoring pedigree can never be questioned.
He has also been a good influence on Greenwood, who is still learning to play as a central attacker. It could save United quite some money if they can keep Cavani for another year instead of splurging on another striker.
