“Obvious one” – Luke Shaw reveals who is the fastest player at Manchester United

Luke Shaw admits Daniel James is the fastest player at Manchester United

Speaking to the club’s official website (h/t The Metro), Manchester United star Luke Shaw has named Daniel James as the fastest player at the club.

This revelation comes as a challenge to Dean Henderson, who has in the past boasted about his quickness. The United goalkeeper was the fastest player at Sheffield United and revealed that he could take on anyone at Carrington.

Shaw, meanwhile, does not name the goalkeeper in his top-ten list, let alone anywhere close to the top. He goes on to add that it is difficult to look beyond James for the title.

“I’d have to say Daniel James, that’s quite an obvious one.”

“I think everyone already knows but it’s Daniel James.”

James’ pace is quite clear to all those who have watched him in action. The Welshman is a difficult player to handle when in full throttle and has often left defenders for dead.

“I saw something the other day about Deano saying he’s the quickest but I wouldn’t even put Deano top-10.”

A major drawback in James’ game was his inability to make his strengths count. While he is pacy, he never used it to full potential and often struggled to make an impact in games.

Thankfully, he appears to be rectifying it and has put in some solid performances in recent weeks. If he continues along the same path, he can forever shed the title of a speed merchant and evolve into a well-rounded player.

With five goals and one assist in 22 appearances, the 23-year-old’s numbers this season aren’t earth-shattering. However, he has already improved since last season and could very well go on to scale greater heights at Old Trafford.
