Manchester United star Brandon Williams heaps the praise on Lionel Messi and Kevin De Bruyne
Responding to a Q&A on the club’s official website, Brandon Williams revealed that the toughest opponent he has faced as a Manchester United player to be Kevin De Bruyne, and also praised Lionel Messi.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, he has named the reigning PFA player of the year Kevin de Bruyne as the one opponent who stands out. The Belgian is on his day one of the finest midfielders in the world, let alone England.
“The best player I’ve played against is probably Kevin De Bruyne because he sees everything.”
Williams has praised De Bruyne’s vision as one of his defining traits. The 29-year-old isn’t just a scorer of great goals. He also makes use of his exemplary awareness to create opportunities for others.
“The way he plays is incredible and the way he passes the ball and movement and everything, so he’s probably the best I’ve played on a pitch with.”
The Manchester City star continues to impress and has put in yet another title-winning performance this season. His return of 8 goals and 16 assists continues to pave the way for Pep Guardiola’s side to win yet another league title.
Williams also perhaps unsurprisingly named Lionel Messi as his favourite player. Possibly the greatest to have ever played the sport, the Argentine has left the United youngster mesmerized.
“My favourite football player is Lionel Messi because I just think he’s incredible and what he’s done consistently over the years is amazing.”

A versatile player capable of playing on either flank, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him at the Theatre of Dreams.
