Transfer News: Ben White open to making Manchester United switch
According to Manchester Evening News, Brighton and Hove Albion star Ben White is open to moving to Manchester United.
It is no secret that United are in the market for a new centre-back. White is just one of the names the Red Devils are considering at the moment. Others on the list include Pau Torres and Raphael Varane.
At 23, White is still developing into a major player and is enjoying his first full season in the English top-flight. While he has made mistakes, he has also shown enough promise to suggest he could develop into a dependable defender.
According to the report, White is keen to move to a bigger team in the coming years. Brighton for their part are unwilling to let go of their prized defender on the cheap.
A local boy, he came through the ranks at the Amex and could cost interested parties around £35million. It is cheaper than the likes of either Varane and Jules Kounde.
White is one of the best young English defenders in the game. However, despite his ability, he is not yet worthy of the fee Brighton are seeking for him.
United skipper Harry Maguire too had recently endorsed White’s potential signing at Old Trafford. While the Brighton star may stand out in a small pond, he still has some ways to go before being able to star at Old Trafford.
