Manchester United trail Barcelona and Real Madrid in Fabio Blanco transfer race
A report by Spanish outlet AS (h/t Daily Mail) mentions Manchester United as one of the many clubs interested in signing Valencia starlet Fabio Blanco.
The 17-year-old has attracted interest from a host of other clubs, with Manchester City and Chelsea amongst the English teams that are after him. However, it seems that Barcelona and Real Madrid are favourites for his signature.
Blanco’s current deal at the Mestalla expires this summer and the La Liga giants are prepared to lock horns over him. Valencia want to renew his deal but understand that the player could be tempted away from the club.
He plays as a right-winger and is likened to Manchester City forward Ferran Torres due to the similarity in their playing style. Moreover, the report claims that Blanco’s coaches consider him the next big thing in Spanish football.
United vs Europe for Blanco
And apart from England and Spain, he has suitors in Germany and Italy as well. AC Milan and Juventus are the two Serie A clubs who are keeping tabs on him. (h/t Daily Mail)
This is undoubtedly a lot of hype for a player who is yet to make a senior appearance so far. He has come from their youth set-up and has represented the Spanish national team at U-15 and U-16 levels. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The English clubs are at a disadvantage for one more reason. They will have to wait for Blanco to turn 18 before they can hope to lure him to England.

But by that time, it could be too late. It seems like this is a transfer race that United might not win, and with the club already housing teenagers like Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri on the right flank, it may not be a transfer we urgently require.
