Barcelona are gearing to go all out for Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland
A report by Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Express) mentions that Barcelona are prepared to go all out for signing Erling Haaland, who is also a transfer target for Manchester United.
The Norwegian striker has set Europe alight after his January 2020 move to Borussia Dortmund from RB Leipzig. He has 49 goals from 49 appearances for the Black and Yellow, which has attracted interest from many top clubs in Europe.
Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are also keen on signing the 20-year-old. But Barcelona are now prepared to go the extra distance and focus their attention on Haaland.
According to the report, the Catalan club are pursuing three low-cost transfer deals in order to diverge all funds on Haaland. This includes a deal for Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, Lyon forward Memphis Depay and Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Barca taking desparate measures
The three free-transfers would ensure that Barcelona have funds to focus on Haaland. And not just that, but Ronald Koeman’s side are also looking at departures in order to boost their transfer kitty.
French winger Antoine Griezmann and former Liverpool sensation Philippe Coutinho are said to be the two players to make way in order to raise funds. (h/t Express)
This news would surely worry United as it seems Barcelona are gearing up to take the Norwegian forward to Camp Nou. But the teams clearly know that Haaland would not come cheap.
The Norwegian sensation is valued at £154million by Dortmund. But that is the fee for a striker who can change a team’s fortunes all by himself.

His goal-scoring record doesn’t lie. With him being just 20 years of age, it would be a great investment for the short, and long term.
