Former Manchester United ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to feature for AC Milan this week
According to Goal, Manchester United have been handed a challenge with former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic returning to training for AC Milan.
The 39-year-old has defied his age to continue impressing for Milan. The Red Devils got a reprieve after the Swede missed the first leg due to an injury.
Given the performance we put up that night, it is fair to say that Zlatan’s absence was a blessing. That could however not be the case this Thursday.
The Red Devils go into the second leg at a disadvantage, thanks to Simon Kjaer’s away goal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have no option now but to take the game to the Rossoneri.
With Zlatan now back in training, the United defence will need to be at its best at the San Siro. It now remains to be seen if Milan boss Stefano Pioli will start the Swede.
Zlatan is Milan’s top scorer with 14 goals this season. His battle with the United backline should prove to be a fascinating contest.
The 39-year-old spent two years at Old Trafford before moving to MLS side LA Galaxy in 2018. His brief stint at United saw him make 53 appearances, netting 29 goals and assisting 10. (h/t Transfermarkt)

The Red Devils will have to improve upon their performance from the first leg to have any hope of progressing to the last eight. Having made it to the semifinals last season, an exit now would amount to nothing short of a failure.
