Christian Pulisic verdict on Chelsea stay revealed amidst Manchester United transfer links
According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea winger and Manchester United transfer target Christian Pulisic wants to fight for his place in Thomas Tuchel’s side despite transfer links to several top clubs.
The American winger has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United in recent weeks. And not just the Red Devils, but Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as the teams interested in Pulisic.
However, those links have been shot down by Romano as he says that the former Borussia Dortmund star wants to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old is currently out of favour at Chelsea.
The American winger has started just one league game under new manager Thomas Tuchel. This is in stark contrast to his treatment under former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, who was relieved of his duties back in January.
No deal
And this news comes as a disappointment for United because Pulisic is one of the most exciting talents in England. He is capable of playing on both wings, and prefers playing on the right flank. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The right-wing is, of course, a position where United don’t have a lot of options, at least on paper. Daniel James started in that position for the club in our 1-0 win against West Ham United on Sunday.
Pulisic is just 22 years old and his best years on the pitch are likely ahead of him. But if Romano is to be believed, then it seems like United will have to look at alternatives.
Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, and Juan Mata have all played down that right-hand side for United this season.

But it would surely help to have another name added to that list next season; a top player who is a natural winger.
