Manchester United set to miss out on Hakan Calhanoglu
According to Metro, Manchester United could miss out on the signing of Hakan Calhanoglu from AC Milan. It has been said that he is close to agreeing on a new deal with the Italian giants despite interest from United.
The AC Milan star is out of contract at the end of this season and that has fanned speculation about his future. Calhanoglu primarily plays through the middle but likes to drift out wide and create chances. He also has a decent record of scoring goals for the Italian giants.
However, the midfielder is now expected to stay back and agree on a new contract with Milan. While the club were unsure of his wage demands, they have given into it due to the importance of Calhanoglu on the side.
Despite interest in the player, he is said to be interested in staying at Milan. AC Milan chiefs are keen on keeping him and it will likely be hard to prise him away from the club given how impactful he is. Calhanoglu is currently free to sign a pre-contract with any side though.
