Owen Hargreaves wants Manchester United to sign Declan Rice and Wesley Fofana

According to Metro, Owen Hargreaves wants Manchester United to sign Declan Rice and Wesley Fofana. The Red Devils could be looking at a few additions to the squad in the summer after this season in which they are likely to finish second.

The former United midfielder believes that Rice and Fofana would be very good signings for them.

The club are looking to sign a central defender and with so many targets out there, Hargreaves feels that they should go for Leicester City new boy Wesley Fofana. The youngster has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water and already looks like a solid piece of investment.

“I’d love to see Manchester United get Fofana. He’s a Ferrari, honestly. I’d throw whatever they’ve got left in the bank to get him. He’s a fabulous player.”

Hargreaves also added that a player like Declan Rice would also help the side. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of options to choose from in midfield. This includes the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic.

Of these, Pogba could be gone next summer and Matic is not getting any younger. Van de Beek may yet come good but has so far struggled to make his opportunities count. In Rice, United would be getting a young yet seasoned performer well acquainted with the league.

“I think Rice’s upside is off the charts. He has the potential to be anything and a lot better. I think he plays within himself at West Ham. People don’t realise how big he is.

“He’s 6’3, so he looks like a centre back but he’s actually really good technically. I’m not a big fan of players who just play in there and pass it around, you have to stop players too.”
