Manchester United target Kingsley Coman turns down new Bayern Munich contract
According to German publication Kicker (h/t Teamtalk), Manchester United target Kingsley Coman has rejected a lucrative new contract from Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old’s decision has however not led to any panic at Bayern, but the developing situation could be worth watching forn the likes of United who are keen on the player.
With his injury problems now behind him, Coman is coming into his own as a dominant winger. He has made 27 appearances this season, scoring 6 goals and making 13 assists so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The player’s contract at Bayern runs until 2023. Despite there still being time left, the Germans are afraid of him eventually moving on a free, something they are set to experience with David Alaba next summer.
The European champions are keen to extend the player’s deal until 2026. However, negotiations at this point in time have been interrupted.
United have been keen on Coman for some time now. According to the report, an offer of €15.6m per year was made for Coman last summer. But the Parisian decided to stay in the Bundesliga.
Having won it all at Bayern, it remains to be seen if Coman will seek a new challenge with United. The Red Devils are seeking to embark on a return to the top and the Frenchman could write his name into history with United.
United could be set to offer Coman lucrative terms to move to England. Coman could earn as much as £260,000-a-week before taxes at Old Trafford. Currently earning £140,000-a-week at the Allianz Arena, a move to United will pay off richly for the player. (h/t Daily Mail)
