According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Mirror), a £130m bid from Manchester United for Ansu Fati was knocked back by Barcelona in the summer.

With the Catalans in financial distress, Manchester United hoped to test the waters with a bid for the prized asset. However, Barca were nowhere close to sanctioning a sale for their young prodigy.

Fati has broken into the first-team at Barcelona and has been on an upward development curve since. He is currently one of the best and brightest young talents in world football.

Not only did Barca turn down bids for Fati, but they also had to knock back offers for starlets Pedri and Francisco Trincao. Bayern Munich were supposedly after Pedri. There was a substantial offer for Pedri as well according to his agent.

The trio have been regarded as important players in the long-term, hence any approaches for them have been put away by the Catalan club despite their need to balance the books. They have become regulars under Ronald Koeman but Fati has been out with injury for a while now.

Koeman has spoken about Fati, insisting that the young Spanish international had a bright future in front of him and he needs to recover at his own pace. Fati is expected to play for Spain in the Euros this year.
