Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hints at new contract for Manchester United star Paul Pogba
Speaking in an interview (h/t The Guardian), Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that the club is in an ‘open dialogue’ with Paul Pogba over the prospect of a new contract.
It was just in December that Mino Raiola dropped the bombshell that Paul Pogba is ‘unhappy’ at the club and wants to leave. But since then, the midfielder has been in great form.
He won the United player of the month award for January after scoring winners against Burnley and Fulham. And Solskjaer insists that the World Cup winner is enjoying his football at Manchester United.
The Norwegian, however, did not indicate if Pogba would stay or leave in the summer. He just stated that the club has an open dialogue with the midfielder and that their conversations remain private.
“We’ve got a good open dialogue with Paul so what we talk about and how we see that situation remains between us.”
A change of heart?
He underlines that the 27-year-old knows about the history of the club and is as desperate as his teammates to land success at Old Trafford.
“He wants to do the best for United when he’s here and I think we’ve seen that – that he really cares for his team and he’s trying to be as successful as everyone else.”
Pogba’s contract expires in the summer of 2022. It is evident that he is one of the main players in the squad
who has driven United to challenge for the title this season.More Manchester United News:
