Sergio Ramos targetting a move to Manchester United next summer
According to the Mirror, Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos is eyeing a move to Manchester United in the summer.
The 34-year-old is one of the finest defenders of the era and a Madrid legend. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, he looks set to bid goodbye to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The player was also linked with a move to PSG but does not appear to favour a move to the French capital. This could clear the way for him to move to United.
A serial winner, Ramos’ negotiations with Madrid over a new deal have collapsed. He is free to talk to clubs foreign clubs and secure a pre-contract agreement. His brother Rene Ramos, who also happens to be his agent, is keen to arrange a move to England.
Ramos has also attracted considerable attention from Asia. However, his family is not keen on shifting continents in yet another boost for United.
The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool are both linked to the player. However, it does not appear as if either club will have an easy job landing him. Ramos is keen to secure more than £200,000-a-week in wages. (h/t Mirror)
Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, now in charge of Everton could also make a move to land Ramos. The player, however, has his eyes on United with the Theatre of Dreams being his first-choice destination. (h/t Mirror)
Despite his age, Ramos has a year or two left in him and would add valuable experience to the United backline. As Thiago Silva has shown at Chelsea, age could be no bar if the player can adapt to his surroundings.

In Edinson Cavani, United have seen that there is value in the free agent market if one chooses to look for it. Ramos too could prove to be a shrewd short-term signing that could shore up our defence.
Whether the club will ramp up their efforts to land him remains to be seen.
