Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is considering terminating loan spell at Lazio.

Andreas Pereira could return to Manchester United from Lazio

A report by Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi (h/t Manchester Evening News) states that Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira is considering to have his loan spell terminated at Lazio.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Serie A side on loan in October 2020. However, he hasn’t had the playing time he wished he would in the capital city.

Pereira has just two starts this season for Lazio and has been subbed-in 13 times. Both those starts have also come in the league, with none being in the UEFA Champions League.

He has managed a solitary goal in his 15 outings but would be less than satisfied with the game time he is being afforded. Before his move, he was a regular feature in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Where to next?

He is now considering switching clubs in hopes of playing more regularly. And unsurprisingly, he is not happy with the lack of starts at his current club. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

If he is to come back to Old Trafford, he would face heavy competition. The team already boasts of a stacked midfield with stellar first-team players like Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, and Bruno Fernandes.

And with him wanting more minutes, it would make little sense for him to re-join the Red Devils if he would not feature regularly. Regardless of that, it can never hurt to have quality players in the squad.

Like December, January will also be a busy month, with a congested fixture list awaiting the club. It would not hurt the club to have a player like Pereira available for selection in such circumstances.
