Manchester United enquire about Inter Milan flop Christian Eriksen
According to Italian publication, Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have made a tentative approach to Inter Milan regarding Christian Eriksen.
The Danish international moved to Italy after spending a fruitful six and a half seasons at Tottenham. The move, however, has not gone well, with him struggling to make the same impact at San Siro.
Eriksen has failed to complete a game for Inter this season. He has predominantly spent recent weeks as an unused substitute on the bench.
The 28-year-old is keen to garner more playtime ahead of next summer’s European Championships. With that looking unlikely at Inter, it remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed for him in January.
According to the report, Inter too are keen to get Eriksen off their payroll. The midfielder doesn’t feature high on Antonio Conte’s preferred list of players either.
Eriksen is keen for a change of scenery and could be ready for a loan move elsewhere. While Inter are not averse to the idea, they have had trouble finding suitors.
Both United and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the player who is familiar with the Premier League. The report goes on to add that the Gunners currently hold the advantage over us as they could include Granit Xhaka in a potential swap deal.
United, meanwhile, are expected to have a quiet winter window and will instead look to bring in reinforcements next summer.

At 28, Eriksen should be in the prime of his career. Instead, he is struggling to make a mark and appears to have regressed.
While it can be argued that he doesn’t fit in well at Inter, his last six months at Spurs were nothing to write home about either.
Securing him on a short-term loan is sure to give us more options for the remainder of the season. As far as a permanent deal is concerned, United are better off looking elsewhere.
