Manchester United could be without Marcus Rashford for West Ham United clash
Speaking to BT Sports (h/t Man United), Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Marcus Rashford is struggling with a shoulder injury.
The 23-year-old was taken off in the 3-1 loss to PSG in the 74th minute yesterday. With the clash against West Ham United just days away, the chances of him recovering in time are unclear.
With Anthony Martial struggling for form, the unavailability of Rashford will be a blow against an in-form Hammers side.
“Let’s hope he can be ready for the West Ham game. But we don’t know.”
Rashford was excellent on the night and at times make incisive darting runs. His deflected shot brought United level after Neymar had given PSG the lead. It was his third goal against the French champions in three games.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to help us this time around. Two second-half goals and a red card to Fred ensured United now have it all to do when we travel to Leipzig next week.
David de Gea is another player who is a doubt to feature against West Ham. The Spanish international ooked to be in discomfort in the second half.
The shot-stopper suffered an injury against Southampton and was replaced at half-time by Dean Henderson. He passed a late fitness test to be able to feature in yesterday’s clash.
Solskjaer however did not elaborate on the Spaniard’s condition. Hopefully, it is an indication that all is fine with the 30-year-old.
