Joel Pereira set to join Huddersfield Town on loan
As per the Daily Mail, Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira is set for another loan spell, this time at EFL Championship side Huddersfield Town.
The 24-year-old Pereira has been with United since 2012, having joined from Swiss club Xamax.
The Portuguese custodian has progressed well through the youth ranks, but the presence of David de Gea and Sergio Romero has meant he has been unable to make a name at the first-team level. Till date, he has made just three senior appearances, keeping two clean sheets. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Pereira has had loan spells away at Rochdale, Belenses SAD, Vitoria Setubal, KV Kortrijk and most recently, Scottish outfit Hearts. His spell in Scotland left a lot to be desired, as he ended up shipping 43 goals in 25 games in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Back at Manchester United, Pereira’s first-team chances look as bleak as ever, with him getting pushed further down the pecking order following the return of Dean Henderson.
The Englishman is back at the club after a successful two-year loan stint with Sheffield United and is expected to challenge de Gea for the starting spot this term.
As a result, Pereira is set for another loan stint, with Huddersfield Town being his next destination. (h/t Daily Mail)

Given that he is unlikely to get any minutes with the first-team, going out on loan is in the best interests of Pereira.
The Portuguese goalkeeper’s current contract with Manchester United runs out in less than a year. It remains to be seen if the club does extend his deal before loaning him out for the upcoming season.
