Jadon Sancho may need to hand in a transfer request to force Manchester United switch
Manchester United had earmarked Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho, as the top transfer target this summer.
The Germans had given United until August 10 to submit an acceptable proposal. The Red Devils were, however, unable to do so forcing Dortmund to declare that Sancho will stay put this summer.
The 20-year-old joined his Dortmund teammates as they jetted off to Switzerland for pre-season training.
With both clubs still unable to reach an agreement, something has got to give. According to The Sun, Sancho can take matters into his own hands if he hands in a transfer request.
Sancho was keen on making the move. As per the report, he has been left frustrated following the breakdown in talks. He is now considering if he should take matters unto his own hands.
As reported by the Daily Mail, United have been left frustrated by the England international’s representatives as well as Dortmund’s refusal to negotiate directly.
The Germans have appointed an agent as an intermediary to negotiate with United. They rejected our initial offer of £70million potentially rising to £110m depending on various clauses.
Sancho’s representatives also snubbed United’s contract bid that would have seen him earn £220,000-per-week. They are holding out for an improved £250,000.
United, however, are not ready to give up and will continue to pursue the England international.
United have also identified Barcelona star and former Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele as an alternative to Sancho. However, reservations regarding his injury record may prevent an agreement from being reached.
