Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell Jadon Sancho for the right price
According to the Independent, Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell star winger Jadon Sancho for the right price.
The 20-year-old is one of Europe’s most sought-after players this summer. Firmly established as one of the best young players, he has enjoyed a stellar season at Dortmund.
He scored 20 goals and assisted 20 more in just 44 appearances as he proved that the previous season’s success was no flash in the pan.
A right-winger is at the top of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wish list and Sancho fits the profile to a tee. However, where United end up this season could have an impact on whether they can actually sign Sancho.
The player is keen to play in the Champions League next season. United need just a point from their final game against Leicester City to guarantee the same.
According to the report, not being able to achieve it is a deal-breaker to the player and his representatives.
Even if the worst does come to pass, United can still qualify for the competition if they win the Europa League. It is something the club is familiar with, having done the same in 2017.
Taking such a route is not without its pitfalls. United’s spending power would be affected, and it may change the nature of the deal.
Ready to sell
According to the report, Dortmund believe this is the summer where they can sell their star for an optimal value. They have already identified Werder Bremen star Milot Rashica as a potential replacement alongside Jude Bellingham.
United are expected to enter negotiations at a basic fee of £55m. A number of clauses and add-ons will eventually take it up to over £80m.

The amount quoted here for Sancho is much lower than the earlier quoted values. It remains to be seen what happens on Sunday at the King Power Stadium.
The result will not just impact our standing. It could also determine our future.
