Solskjaer keen to sign five new players to challenge for the title
According to the Telegraph, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in five new players to challenge for the Premier next season’s title.
The Red Devils have enjoyed a promising season but have fallen far short of former glories. It is clear that the gap between us and the sides at the top must be bridged in order for us to return to our perch.
United have done well in recent windows. The likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes have all gone straight into the first XI.
Solskjaer has also seen a number of stars depart. This has seen the team get hit in terms of squad depth. It has become apparent over our past few games where the Norwegian has named the same starting XI four matches in a row.
Avoiding defeat against Leicester City on Sunday will see us qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. A return to Europe’s top table will provide Solskajer with a financial boost to compete in the transfer market.
Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan had shortlisted nine signings at the start of their United tenure to make the club compete at the top once again.
After recent success in the market, Solskjaer still wants to bring in a right-winger, a centre-forward, a central midfielder, a centre-back and a left-back to complete his overhaul.
According to the report, Solskajer will prioritize a right-winger, a central midfielder and a central defender. He intends to get all three in the summer window.

A number of players are on United’s radar, including Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Missing out on a top-four finish could seriously dent Solskajer’s chances of bringing in the players he wants. We have no room for error in the winner-takes-all clash at the King Power Stadium.
