Manchester United set to replace Angel Gomes with Jack Grealish

According to the Express, Manchester United set to land Jack Grealish to replace academy youngster Angel Gomes.

The 19-year-old looks set to leave the club after he failed to agree on a new deal. One of our brightest prospects, his departure is nevertheless a blow to our long-term vision.

The same was confirmed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who believes the club has not been able to reach an agreement with Gomes.

“I’ve got no news, so it doesn’t look like it [that he will sign a new deal].”

Chelsea or Barcelona appears to be his likeliest destination as the duo continue to monitor the 19-year-old’s future with interest.

In Grealish, United will be getting a player who is well versed with the travails of succeeding in the Premier League. His leadership abilities will be a bonus.

According to the report, United are expected to complete the transfer without any issues. The 24-year-old has already found a house to buy in the North-West and has told his close friends that he will move in when the window opens.

Along with Jadon Sancho, Grealish is the club’s priority target this summer. He is seen as the perfect foil to Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes.

The January signing has taken the league by storm. The thought of him working in tandem with Grealish is a salivating prospect. He will not come cheap. Villa want £80million for their star asset regardless of whether they stay in the Premier League or not.
