Twitter reacts as Angel Gomes nears Manchester United exit
According to BBC reporter Simon Stone, Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes looks set to leave the club this summer.
The 19-year-old came through the academy at United before making his debut at 16 in 2017. This made him the youngest player since Duncan Edwards in the 1950s to play for the senior team.
He has since made 10 appearances for the club. The youngster’s contract expires in the summer, leaving him free to move elsewhere.
United were keen to extend his stay but it now appears that we have failed to come to an agreement with Gomes.
It is a shame that the youngster will leave the club. But it makes no sense for us to keep a player who does not want to be here.
United have progressed well under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of late. It is Gomes’ loss as he will now miss out on the Norwegian’s rebuilding project.
A number of United fans took to Twitter to express their views on the topic. We take a look at a few of them below.

He hasn’t been particularly good in the youth system this season.

If he’s leaving, then all the best to him.
Jose gave him his debut. Ole sold him but but Ole plays Youth and Jose destroys them😴

if he needs that much convincing, he is not the right material for the club. Good luck to wherever he goes and I hope he has a long and prosperous career.
