“The type of person I would go for” – Man United hero urges club to sign Man City star

Dwight Yorke urges Manchester United to sign Leroy Sane

Speaking on Stadium Astro (h/t Metro), Manchester United hero Dwight Gayle has urged the club to sign Manchester City star Leroy Sane.

The German is one of the best wide-men in the Premier League. A player who is hard to pin down, the 24-year-old has been an overwhelming force for City in recent seasons.

“I’ve watched him very closely, he’s a player that I like a lot.”

An ACL injury sustained last August has limited him to just one appearance all season. His absence was visible, with City at times lacking the x-factor that saw them turn games around in the past.

He was close to a move to Bayern Munich before he got injured. A year on, he could yet make the move to the Allianz Arena.

Yorke believes United should do what they can to beat the Germans to the winger.

United are constantly linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. Yorke believes Sane is of the same mould and can have a similar impact.

“If I was Man United manager at this point in time that’s the type of person I would go for.”

United could already have a solution to their woes. Mason Greenwood has enjoyed an excellent breakout season.

Yorke acknowledges that the club does have a talent there but feels Sane trumps the other options available.

We will be lying if we say we would rather pass on the German. Sane is an effective player who is a bonafide match-winner.

Given that he plays for City, it is difficult to see him make the move to Old Trafford. In the unlikely event that he does, United will have pulled off the deal of the window.
