Twitter reacts as Fred completes two years at Manchester United
Today marks two years since Brazilian international Fred signed for Manchester United.
Joining from Shakhtar Donetsk, the 27-year-old signed a five year deal with the club. He made his debut on the opening day of the 2018-19 campaign in a 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Although much was expected of the Samba star, it was an underwhelming first season at Old Trafford.
He struggled for form and looked far off the pace. This led to him making just 25 appearances all season.
He has enjoyed better luck this time around. Having made 40 appearances and scored two goals and four assists, he has established himself as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s key players.
Improved performances saw United cope well in the absence of the injured Paul Pogba.
Fred has shown he has what it takes to succeed at the club. With Bruno Fernandes and Pogba back in contention, he may not be a regular starter. However, his abilities make him a dependable backup who has improved with time.
As we celebrate his second anniversary at the club, let’s take a look at what the fans had to say.

The first year was really tough, perhaps first year and a half, but he is getting better and hopefully, the next years erase the first. 👊
