Everton enter the race for Manchester United target Mohammed Salisu

According to the Daily Mail, Everton have entered the race to sign Manchester United target Mohammed Salisu.

The Ghanaian defender has enjoyed a breakout season for Valladolid. He has made 30 appearances this season, contributing with one goal and one assist.

The 21-year-old has a relatively economical £10.8million release clause and has also attracted attention from Premier League side Southampton.

According to the report, French side Rennes has agreed to pay Salisu’s release clause. However, he is waiting to see if there is any concrete interest from the Premier League.

United have improved in defence since signing Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, there is still a lot to be desired. The fans who watched the match against Tottenham Hotspur will agree.

With clubs facing financial difficulties, we will need to be shrewd and not extravagant. Salisu is an exciting young talent available at a throwaway price. It is well worth taking a gamble on him.

The 21-year-old joined the Valladolid youth setup from African Talent Football Academy in 2017. He spent some time among the reserves before making the step up to the first-team.
