Besiktas interested in Unied youngster Axel Tuanzebe
According to reports in Turkey (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe could leave the club for Turkish giants Besiktas this summer.
The 22-year-old who can play anywhere in defence and defensive midfield, came through the ranks at United. He has made 11 appearances for the club this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
He impressed on loan at Aston Villa last season. In spite of his impressive performances in the Championship, he has failed to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjar’s first-team this season.
Harry Maguire has settled into defence alongside Victor Lindelof. With the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones ahead of him, his opportunities are likely to be limited.
Tuanzebe noted his desire to play regular football at the start of the Premier League season. That hope could see him force through a move to Turkey.
Besiktas have placed him at the top of their summer transfer list. The Turks are expected to make a loan offer for the 22-year-old.
Speaking to MEN, the former England youth international spoke of his recent progress last month. Judging by his comments, it doesn’t seem as if he has any immediate plans to leave Old Trafford.
Solskjaer too had admitted that the player has a future at the club. With the futures of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones currently under the scanner, he might move up the ranks in the coming months.

There is no arguing that Tuanzebe has potential. However, breaking into the first XI is a bridge too far at this moment in time.
Achieving regular playtime could help him make a case for himself. If Besiktas can guarantee him regular time, he will do well to move there.
He will, however, have to be careful. Liverpool keeper Loris Karius endured a tough time at the club this season. Hopefully, fortune will shine better on Tuanzebe.
