Twitter reacts as Odion Ighalo extends Manchester United stay till January
The Manchester United fairytale for Odion Ighalo is set to continue, at least for six more months.
The club drew a lot of flak when they signed the unheralded Nigerian veteran in January. Six months on, he has proven to be an astute signing who did his talking on the pitch than off it.
His four goals and one assist in eight games have aided us in our rise up the table in recent months. He provided a dependable option up front in the absence of the injured Marcus Rashford.
With football suspended since March, it appeared that he had played his last game for the club. Especially since his loan was set to expire yesterday.
To the joy of the fans everywhere, the club’s official site confirmed today that Ighalo will stay with the club until January 31, 2021.
It is the dream of every footballer to don the jersey of the side he supports. For Ighalo, it looked it would never come until a series of incidents led United to him.
For now, the story continues. Dreams do come true.
