Boost for Manchester United in Raul Jimenez chase as Juventus face financial difficulties
According to Italian publication Tuttosport (h/t Lancashire Live), Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez.
With Odion Ighalo nearing a return to China, United are in the market for another striker. A stellar scorer who can lead the line with aplomb, Jimenez clearly ticks a number of boxes.
The Mexican has enjoyed a stellar season at the Molineux. He has led from the front with 22 goals and 10 assists in 44 games as Wolves mount an unlikely assault on a top-four finish. Having joined the club on a permanent basis last summer, he has only gone from strength to strength.
His performances have also attracted interest from abroad, with Italian champions Juventus keen. The Turin giants have identified the 29-year-old as an alternative to Napoli ace Arkadiusz Milik.
Given his importance to Nuno Espirito Santo, he will not come cheap. Wolves will demand at least £50million for his signature.
A financial disadvantage
The high valuation is a problem for Juventus, who cannot afford to pay the quoted amount outright. They may, however, try and throw in some players in a part-exchange deal.
It is a matter of debate if the players thrown in will be keen to move to the Molineux. Although Wolves are a team on the rise, transferring from a club of Juventus’ stature will appear to be a step down for top stars.
This impasse should clear the way for United if the club choose to make their move.
The 29-year-old is a prolific striker with a habit of scoring against the best teams in the league. He Possesses excellent movement and composure, and is a clinical player who will add a lot to our team.
