A good pre-season hasn't translated to a good campaign.

Man United vs Everton: Man United players rated in 1-1 draw

Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park as Everton put up a tough fight to share the spoils. As a result, the draw will add a dent to our hopes of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for the hosts but a goal from Bruno Fernandes salvaged a point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the United players fared.

Man United Player Ratings

David De Gea: 4.5/10

Made an error for the opening goal but redeemed himself with a couple of good saves as the game progressed.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 5.5/10

Was defensively decent enough but at times struggled to get forward against Baines.

Victor Lindelof: 6/10

Although he got booked, Lindelof was just about sturdy enough to keep Calvert-Lewin quiet.

Harry Maguire: 7.5/10

Easily the better one out of the two centre-backs, Maguire was also booked but he put up a no-nonsense show.

Luke Shaw: 6/10

Looked out of sorts at times but otherwise did not do much wrong. Was also booked.

Scott McTominay: 8/10

Put up a good fight in the middle of the park and it was great to have him back.

Nemanja Matic: 7/10

Did just about enough to marshal the midfield quite well. Also, he fired an effort early on in the game but unfortunately, it only hit the crossbar.

Fred: 6.5/10

He has improved a lot in a more advanced role but he lacks finesse and that was evident against Everton.

Mason Greenwood: 7/10

Showed great willingness to keep running in behind and put in a lot of hard work. He also missed a good chance.

Bruno Fernandes: 9/10

Easily the best Manchester United player on the field, Fernandes also scored the goal that helped us walk away with a point.

Anthony Martial: 6/10

Looked like a threat at times but nothing really came off it.

Substitutes

Odion Ighalo: 5/10

Kept the minutes ticking but that’s about it.

Juan Mata: 6/10

Tried to make things happen and provided service but nothing happened.

Brandon Williams: N/A

Came on too late to make any contribution.
