Gary Neville’s reaction on Twitter as Liverpool finally lose
It had to come to an end but not many would have expected it to occur at Vicarage Road of all places.
Watford produced a sensational second-half masterclass as they became the first team to defeat the Reds in the English Premier League for over a year.
Ismaila Sarr was the hero as the young Senegalese scored twice before Troy Deeney finished the Reds off.
The defeat was met by glee with a number of United fans – including Gary Neville.
The United legend was mocked last week for his premature tweet about Liverpool bottling the league. He now had the last laugh as he waited till the scoreline was secure before the posting the same today.
Neville could barely hide his smile as the Merseysiders’ streak came to an end. He later posted another tweet of him popping open a champagne bottle in a mock celebration.
His antics were well received by United fans, who also took great joy in Liverpool’s defeat.

Liverpool’s healthy lead makes the chances of them bottling the league extremely unlikely, although it would be a very Liverpool thing to do.
But that’s one less record for them to achieve and we will take the victories we get, no matter how little.
