Salomon Rondon claims Man United tried to sign him on deadline day
According to Daily Mail, Salomon Rondon has claimed that Manchester United tried to sign him on deadline day. The former Newcastle United striker was a January target for us but we eventually ended up signing Odion Ighalo on loan.
Just as the dust settles, Rondon recently told Spanish news outlet AS (h/t Daily Mail):
“There was something. It was not smoke, they were rumours and very strong”.
He went on to add that it was simply not meant to be and that he must focus on Dalian in the Chinese Super League now. Interestingly enough, even Ighalo plied his trade in the same league.

Rondon netted 12 goals for Newcastle last season and he would have been a safe choice for us in the wake of Rashford’s injury.
All said and done though, Ighalo is here with us and we must now focus on extracting the best out of the 30-year-old.
We have to push hard to achieve a top-4 finish and scoring goals would be the best way to go about.
