Joel Glazer to prevent sale of underfiring Anthony Martial
Antony Martial was a relative unknown when Manchester United made signed him for £36million in 2015. The deal made the youngster the most expensive teenager at the time. (h/t BBC)
The youngster got off to the perfect start as he came off the bench to score a worldie on his debut against arch-rivals Liverpool.
It is fair to say that the Frenchman hasn’t exactly lived up the hype generated.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has been patient with the underwhelming striker so far. It looks like the Norwegian has lost patience and is willing to let Martial depart in the summer, according to Express.
Martial has been tasked with the responsibility of leading the United attack in the absence of the injured Marcus Rashford. However, he has failed to deliver and it culminated in United signing Odion Oghalo from the Chinese Super League.
The signing of Ighalo can be seen as a show of lack of confidence in the Frenchman.
Solksjaer’s decision to cut his losses may prove harder than though due to the player being a personal favourite of United co-owner Joel Glazer. (h/t Express)
It could be a sense of deja-vu with former Manager Jose Mourinho’s wish of replacing the striker with Ivan Perisic also being overruled by Joel Glazer. With Solksjaer not having a choice in the matter, it looks like the 24-year-old striker will stay at United, at least for now.

It will benefit all parties if the striker regains his touch and repays the faith shown in him by the owner.
