Since joining United in 2014, Rojo has gone on to make 122 appearances for the Red Devils. He has, however, struggled with injuries and loss of form and has made just 9 appearances for the club this season. (h/t Whoscored)

The player will return to the club where it all began in an attempt to resurrect his flagging career.

Marcos Rojo started his career at Estudiantes

Rojo penned an extension to his United contract in 2018, extending it until 2021. He has since then made only 13 appearances for the Red Devils.

He clearly has no future at United. Thus, the loan would do the player well. With the Copa America set to take place this summer, the return to Argentina would help Rojo stake a claim for a spot in the Argentina squad.

The 29-year-old has won 61 caps for Argentina since making his debut in 2011. He was also part of the Estudiantes squad that won the Copa Libertadores in 2009.
