Arsenal ace Aubameyang emerges as the latest entrant on United’s wish list
Manchester United have set their sights on Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a £70m transfer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hunts for a Romelu Lukaku replacement, according to the Sun.
The Belgian ace is closing in on a switch to Inter Milan after enduring a lacklustre season at Old Trafford. The 26-year-old is largely admired by Inter manager Antonio Conte.
Elsewhere, Aubameyang was off to a flyer in his first season at the Emirates Stadium, racking up 31 goals and 8 assists in all competitions. He and his strike partner Alexandre Lacazette played a great role in the Gunners’ successful Europa League run, eventually ending as the runners-up.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund man also shared the Premier league Golden boot award with Liverpool players Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.
United’s interest in Aubameyang
Without a doubt, the Gabonese international has become an established forward over the years but his move to Old Trafford would definitely hinder the growth of Marcus Rashford.
The 21-year-old English international is on the cusp of becoming a prominent forward as he has made steady progress in the past seasons. He bagged 22 goals even in a dull-looking campaign for the Red Devils.
