Fluminense forward Joao Pedro is drawing interest from Europe’s elite clubs
Manchester United have entered the race alongside Barcelona and Liverpool to snap up Watford-bound whizkid, Joao Pedro, according to the Sun.
The 17-year-old Fluminense forward is set to join the Hornets next year after having signed a five-year contract.
Now, La Liga giants Barcelona look to be the front runners in capturing the Brazilian prospect, who is already off to a flier with his professional career.
The Catalans are convinced that they can obstruct Pedro’s move to Premier League and lure him to Nou Camp. Pedro made his first-team debut with Fluminense earlier this year, bagging 6 goals and an assist in 6 games. He is often deployed as a left winger and is synonymous with the centre-forward role too.
Meanwhile, United completed the signing of Daniel James from Swansea for a reported value of €15m (h/t BBC Football). The Welsh winger marks United’s first summer acquisition, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preparing for a summer of upheaval.
