United leading the race to sign Maddison from Leicester City
Manchester United are leading the race to sign Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, according to the Independent.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently working on a squad overhaul as he makes the 22-year-old playmaker his priority. Maddison, who is valued at £60million, is on the radar of fellow Premier League clubs Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Having been a regular for the Foxes this season, the Englishman has bagged 7 goals and 7 assists in all competitions. A youth product of Coventry City, Maddison soon rose to prominence during his spell with Norwich City.
Should United move for Maddison?
United’s need for a playmaker has seemingly increased after enduring a lacklustre season where star players like Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba failed to live up to their best. Maddison, who has created the most goalscoring chances in the recently concluded season, would be a great addition to the Red Devils.
The former Canaries youngster can occupy several positions in the midfield, though he is an attacking midfielder by trade.

He holds a pass percentage of 83% (Whoscored) and has a knack of playing accurate set-pieces. Solskjaer needs a quality player to orchestrate his side’s attack and Maddison would be an absolute fit.
