Boost for Man United as Bundesliga chief asks his player to leave

The 30-year-old defender, who has clearly fallen down the pecking order of Niko Kovac, is wanted by a swarm of clubs namely Arsenal, PSG and Inter Milan.

Boateng made only 20 appearances in the recently ended Bundesliga season, where the Bavarians were crowned the champions.

And the German defender’s lack of form over the course allowed his compatriot Niklas Sule to supersede him. Amidst the transfer links, Bayern’s president Uli Hoeness said that Boateng could leave the club by mutual consent.

“I would recommend him as a friend to leave the club. He needs a new challenge. Recently he has seemed out of place.”

Given this, the Red Devils are ready to pounce on the German defender and try to bring him to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer desperately needs to add some firepower to United’s defence for the upcoming season and it still remains to be seen whether Boateng would reinstate his form at Old Trafford.
