The Red Devils have been offered the chance to sign Strootman on a loan deal from Marseille
Manchester United and Everton have been offered to sign Marseille midfielder Strootman on a loan deal, according to the Sun.
In fact, the Dutch midfielder was a long-time target of the Red Devils but failed to strike a deal owing to a sumptuous fee. The 29-year-old moved to France last year from AS Roma after spending around 5 years in the Serie A.
Strootman made 29 appearances this season and garnered a 6-goal tally despite an underwhelming campaign for the Ligue 1 side. He has also earned 42 caps for Netherlands national team.
How will Strootman fit into Solskjaer’s side?
Despite being immensely talented, Strootman often struggled with his injury-prone nature. However, signing him on a loan deal wouldn’t cause many problems for Ole Gunner Solskjaer.
The Dutchman is highly known for his hardworking nature and physical ability, and can bring a high level of energy to the field. With the departure of Ander Hererra, the Norwegian can avail Strootman’s services at least on a temporary basis.

United will play Leeds United in a pre-season game and will participate in the Europa League next season after finishing sixth in the Premier League table.
